Meet Me

Before she was old enough to read or write, Carolyn Kane dictated her first short story to her mother. Since then she has established a busy teaching career and written numerous essays, short stories, and book reviews, along with three non-fiction books for middle-grade students and the juvenile fantasy novel Taking Jenny Home.

As a teacher, Carolyn founded a popular writers' conference for high school students and sponsored a collegiate magazine that won numerous awards from the American Scholastic Press Association and the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. She has lectured at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, and has presented a program to the Creative Directors of Hallmark Cards. Carolyn enjoys her work as editor of the Twainian, the newsletter of the Mark Twain birthplace museum in Florida, Missouri. She is listed in Who's Who in America.

Carolyn divides her time between rural Missouri and Northern Wisconsin. She enjoys browsing in antique shops, following the St. Louis Cardinals, attending plays and concerts, and walking on the shore of Lake Michigan. Nature plays an important role in Taking Jenny Home, which is now available as a Kindle selection. To read the first two chapters of this novel, click here
